Yoga provides a wide variety of benefits to practitioners. Using breathing practices (Pranayama) and body postures (Asana), the practice of Yoga provides a range of ways to increase overall well-being. Specifically, with regular practice, practitioners will increase muscle strength, improve balance, increase body awareness, improve range of motion in joints, and experience greater relaxation and ability to focus. STEPVA participants in Yoga have shown, and continue to show, remarkable growth in all of these areas, as well as experiencing benefits unique to the individual participants.
